Emphasises the importance of staff responsibilities and how reducing fire risk should be part of normal day-to-day activities. The programme looks at typical causes of fires in hotels.

Fire Extinguishers

Examines the use and selection of fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Identifies which extinguishers should be used in the most common situation in hotels.

Evacuation

Looks at the roles and processes that should be followed when a fire is detected. Explores some of the specific roles and duties that staff should undertake in the event of fire.

Hot Oil Fires

Demonstrates the ineffectiveness of traditional fire extinguishers and the dangers of applying water. It also shows how to use the latest Wet Chemical extinguishers on this type of fire.

The DVD includes an interactive quiz, which can be used to consolidate learning, or to stimulate group discussions at the end of the viewing.
